Phanar Greek Orthodox Patriarchate
Our Byzantine tour begins with a comfortable tour vehicle that will pick you up from your hotel. We also begin our journey by visiting the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, the center of the Orthodox faith worldwide. This center of faith, also known as St. George's Church, with over 300 million followers, has survived until the breaking of the Byzantine and Ottoman archives.

Blachernae Panagia Church
Our next stop on our Byzantine tour is the Church of Panagia Blachernae, the finest and most famous shrine to the Holy Virgin in Constantinople. The history of this shrine unfolds throughout the Byzantine period, mirroring significant events in the city at that time. Blachernae is a district within Constantinople, the capital of the Byzantine Empire, and houses many structures, including the holy waters of Eastern Christianity and the church that rose in this area. Among these cultural assets is the Church of Panagia Blacherniotissa , built by Empress Pulcheria approximately 450 years ago.

Kariye (Chora) Church
Our final stop will be the Chora Church . Its history dates back to the 6th century. Renovations during the Ottoman period resulted in its continued existence into the second half of the 20th century. While it previously had a regular monastic complex, these structures have not survived to the present day. A contemporary example of the new awakening in Byzantine art that paralleled the Italian Renaissance, the Chora Church , with its mosaics and frescoes, is one of the finest representations of the late Byzantine period (14th century).
